Victor Plantinga

Victor graduated from Marquette Law School in 1986 and was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar that same year. Since graduation, he has focused on trial work, both civil and criminal. In the criminal law area of Victor’s practice, he first worked as a prosecutor and then as a defense attorney, Victor has tried jury cases in the following areas: first degree intentional homicide, attempted first degree intentional homicide, first degree sexual assault, child neglect resulting in death, homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, public official taking bribes, bank robbery, burglary, federal drug and gun cases, and sexual predator law.

Victor has also tried civil cases, mostly jury trials, in the following areas: contract lawsuits, employee non-competition lawsuits, wage claims, medical negligence, commercial banking law, telecommunications fraud, contract law involving installation of a computer warehouse system, real estate fraud, employment discrimination, construction, fire loss, real estate property disputes, auto dealership law, paternity, personal injury, lemon law and consumer law.

In addition to State civil and criminal jury trials, Victor has litigated cases before the Department of Workforce Development, Equal Rights Division, and the Federal District Courts in Wisconsin and Illinois, and various Municipal Police and Fire Commissions. Victor has argued cases in the Federal Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. In addition to Victor’s work in Courts in Wisconsin, he has handled cases in Ohio, California, Illinois, Indiana, Connecticut, Florida and Michigan. Victor, in addition to his trial work, has litigated matters in AAA Arbitration.
